The winner of the match got a shot at Bray’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 2017.
It’s genuinely comforting to know that, after all these years, WWE can still legitimately piss me off and break my heart in all of the most counterproductive ways.
I watched this match mere minutes after it happened, but I decided I need to take some time to collect my thoughts on it and watch it again.
After two weeks though, it’s still a fucking shit-show.
This was not your typical WWE bullshit though. Or at least it wasn’t bullshit that they do on a weekly basis.
In this match, the first three quarters of the match or so were devoted to one goal: make Luke Harper seem like a bonafide main-eventer.
And it fucking worked. It motherfucking worked. It was the culmination of weeks and months of storytelling. The Wyatt Family was going to completely implode and all the members would fight each other for the world title at a Wrestlemania.
Orton and Bray were already stars in the eyes of the fans, but now this match was solidifying Harper as a giant among insects. He dominated AJ who did his best version of Flair possible. It was all so fucking grand.
Everything was going to plan.
It was just was not the goddamn WWE’s plan.
Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton and AJ Style vs. Shane McMahon are the plans. Those plans are fucking ass. To see WWE use Luke Harper as a red herring on the path to those two matches was just infuriating.
Fuck you. Fuck me. Fuck everyone. It’s all fucking bullshit. (Fuck)
