This was a ladder match for Harper’s Intercontinental Championship.
While this ladder match did not have the constant action or the jaw-dropping spots that the best ladder matches tend to have, they worked it wisely in that they basically just did a normal match but with the ladders worked in.
Harper controlled most of it. Dolph would sporadically tease a comeback. Dolph did not fully succeed until the very end when he grabbed the belt. That kind of match can work really well, and it did here. The fact that it was a ladder match was not tremendously important, but it also did not take away from it. Good stuff. (***1/2)
