This was a 30-minute iron person match.
TNA decided to blow through this rivalry in two months. After seeing one fiery compact match and one methodical match between the two of them, they decided to book a 30-minute iron person match. TNA just couldn’t help themselves I suppose.
They worked a super methodical match where it came across like both guys were just riffing for 30 minutes and keeping it 50/50ish to build to the boring finish. Joe had the ankle lock applied in the final seconds in an attempt to submit Angle, but Angle survived and won 3-2 as a result.
The Kurt Angle feud successfully ordinaried (yes, I just made that word up) Joe, and this was the clincher. He was now officially just another main eventer for TNA instead of a future star. Oh well. (**1/4)
