Because this was a 2006 Bryan Danielson match, it had to be methodical and overly long for reasons that are not entirely clear. This should have been an easy 15-minute tag match to book. Instead, they insisted on doing a super-long heat segment on Colt which led to nothing significant in any way.
There were a couple of cool macro storylines going on of course. Bryan would give Daniels a title shot if they won. Bryan and Cage wanted to prove who the better world champion was in this match. Colt was still in the middle of his chase story with Bryan. Those ideas were not enough though to compensate for this chore of a battle though. Christian won with the Killswitch on Daniels. Bryan didn’t bother to attempt to make the save. (**)
